Project Scope
  • Establishing the technical, legal, economic, environmental, and social feasibility of the project
  • ­ Estimating the cost of implementing the project
  • ­ Identification and listing of essential and desirable components in terms of infrastructure, support infrastructure, amenities, etc., and recommended components for the proposed project
  • ­ Preparation of an implementation schedule for the project;
  • ­ Preparation of concept plan for the project.
  • ­ Preparation of Financial Models for assessing the project viability and finalizing the project components.
  • ­ Preparation of the proposed project development models
Overview

The feasibility study was anchored on exploration of the viability for the County to invest in modernizing its selected housing estates and optimal use of the respective land.

Description of Services
  • ­ Review of all the existing information, reports, and studies relevant to the project
  • ­ Planning and execution of the required site investigations
  • ­ Environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) assessment
  • ­ Development and presentation of the various alternative options of implementing the project
  • ­ Preparation of the brief for the master planning and detailed design exercise
  • ­ Determination of the implementation time schedule for the project.
  • ­ Carrying out an in-depth Financial and Economic analysis of the project’s alternatives including calculation of the financial internal rate of return (FIRR), net present value (NPV) and weighted average cost of capital, taking into account all the financial costs and benefits of the proposed project.
  • ­ Sensitivity analyses on the financial results
  • ­ Undertaking a comparative ranking of all the Project’s alternative options based on the economic and financial analysis and recommending the best alternative and its implementation plan;
  • ­ Identification of all risks to the project and suggested mitigation plans. An overall risk management matrix for mitigating identified risks and uncertainties during planning stage, procurement stage, construction stage, commissioning, defects liability, and operation period was also prepared;
  • ­ Baseline environmental characteristics (including but not limited to the soils, forest, water resources, wildlife, human and economic activities, surrounding and internal land uses)
  • ­ Preparation of a commercial viability report capable of attracting private developers’ partnership with the County government of Nyeri in developing the Project.
  • Details on pre-conditions necessary for the start of project activities, any project phasing and organization necessary.
