Project Scope
  • ­ The project was done under the Kenyan government initiative of Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP) whose main objective was to improve the living and working conditions of the selected informal settlements by enhancing tenure security.
  • The tenure regularization exercise was broadly based on formalization, legalization, and titles conferment to beneficiaries in the respective informal settlements

Description of Services

1. Community mobilization and sensitization for stakeholder engagement

2. Identification and preparation of digital basemaps

3. Socio-economic and physical mapping of the settlement and respective communities

4. Social and Environmental Screening

5. Preparation of Local Physical Development Plans for the respective informal settlements and approval of the plans.

6. Identification of Project Affected Persons (PAPs), geo-referencing their spatial location and preparation of Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs)

7. Surveying of resultant plots, preparation of survey plans and approval

8. Signing of beacon certificate by beneficiaries

9. Amendment and Sealing of Registry Index Maps complete with area lists/Preparation of Deed plans.
